Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to remove the encroachments in water catching area lands and water body lands situated in S.Nos.430/2A, 430/7A, 430/1, 428/1, 415 and 528 and some other survey numbers, wherein the encroachment in waterbody in Sathiyamangalam Village Account, Gingee Taluk, Villupuram District and report the same to this Court.

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.A.Gouthaman, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.J.Ravindran, learned Additional Advocate General assisted by Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that encroachments are in the water catching area lands in the survey numbers detailed in the petition in Sathiyamangalam Village, Gingee Taluk.

3. The petitioner may approach the Committee constituted under the Government Order bearing G.O.Ms.No.64 dated 08.02.2022. If the petitioner approaches the Committee, the Committee may consider the representation made by the petitioner on its own merits.

4. In light of the above, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
