ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:- "to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to consider petitioner representation dated 8.07.2025 consequently directing the 1st and 2nd respondents to allot the Door No. 29 situated in Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, Manali New town, Chennai 600 103"
2. The petitioner's case is that her house, along with certain other houses, was demolished by the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board on 12.06.2019. The petitioner is in possession of photographic evidence proving the said demolition. Subsequently, the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board constructed new houses and allotted them to several persons whose houses were demolished on 12.06.2019 along with the petitioner's house. However, the respondents have failed to allot a house to the petitioner, despite her being similarly placed. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 08.07.2025 to the respondents 1 and 2, seeking allotment of a new house in lieu of her demolished house. The petitioner has also expressed her willingness to pay a sum of Rs.1,50,000/- on an EMI basis, along with the
applicable maintenance charges. However, her representation dated 08.07.2025 has not been considered by the respondents to date. Hence, the present Writ Petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records.
4. Considering the limited relief sought for by the petitioner and taking note of the fact that some of the similarly placed persons have already been allotted new houses, respondents 1 and 2 are directed to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 08.07.2025, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
5. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is allowed. No costs. 20-01-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order SHR
