This writ petition is for a mandamus directing the respondent to issue passport to the petitioner, after considering his online application No.19-1010950923 dated 18.11.2019.
2. Heard both sides.

It is seen from the counter affidavit filed by the respondent that the earlier application filed by the petitioner for issuing passport was closed on 17.01.2019, since the petitioner has not responded to the show cause notice issued on 15.11.2017, seeking for explanation for https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
suppression of Crime No.215 of 2009 on the passport application. Therefore, it is contended that there is no application pending before the respondent.

Since the closure order was passed on 17.01.2019 and as it is seen that the petitioner has made fresh application on 18.11.2019, which is sought to be disposed of in this writ petition, without expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the respective parties, this writ petition is disposed of, only by directing the first respondent to consider the said application of the petitioner dated 18.11.2019 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
