The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondent to consider her representation dated 18.11.2024 seeking extension of Visa upto a period 06.01.2025 to enable the petitioner to get treatment of her son-Vinistan in India.
2. When the writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Central 1/4
Government Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent, on written instructions, would submit that if the petitioner apply for extension of Visa through online along with the required documents like Passport and Visa details, the same will be considered by the respondent in accordance with law. The relevant portion of the written instructions received by the learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent reads as follows:- "5. In this regard, it is suggested that the petitioner may create a user ID and password in the e-FRRO portal (www.indianfrro.gov.in) in order to apply for visa related services. The petitioner is requested to upload the required documents in the online portal. In case of further clarification/doubt kindly e-mail to chiochn@nic.in. It is humbly submitted that after scrutiny of the application, due process of will be followed and their application will be processed based on merits."
3. The said statement made by the learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent is recorded and the petitioner is directed to apply for extension of Visa through online, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The respondent is 2/4
directed to consider the same and pass final orders on its own merits on or before 27.12.2024 by taking into consideration the medical grounds mentioned by the petitioner.
4. With the above directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
