The petitioner / A4, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 489B, 489C of IPC in Crime No.296 of 2023, seeks anticipatory bail. 2.It is stated that A1 had gone over to purchase banana and had given a 200/- rupees note for purchase of Rs.30/-. The shopkeeper, who is the defacto complainant, suspected the genuinty of the 200/- rupees note. Thereafter, it was found that it was a fake currency. A1 in his confession pointed out A2 and A3. They had been arrested. They then pointed out A4 and A5. The present petitioner is A4. A5 is still absconding.

3.A counter affidavit has been filed stating that further investigation will have to be conducted, as to source of the fake currency and as to where all it had been distributed.

smv 4.Taking those factors into consideration and since the investigation is at a preliminary stage, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
