ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu.W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025.

2. The allegation in this case is that on 09.08.2021, the accused drove the vehicle and caused injuries. The case was registered in Crime No.193 of 2018 for the alleged offences under Sections 279, 337 (2 counts) , 338 (2 counts) of Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860 and Section 3 r/w 181 & 146 r/w196 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

3. When the matter was called, the accused was present before the Court and pleaded guilty.

4. Considering the overall nature of the accident, the fact that the accused has been facing the case for a long time and that he has now pleaded guilty, this Court is of the view that a penalty of fine of Rs.200/- shall be imposed for the offence under Section 279 of IPC and Rs.200/- each for the offence under Section 337 of IPC (2 counts), Rs.200/- each for the offence under Section 338 of IPC (2 counts) and Rs.500/- for the offence under Section 3/181 of MV Act and Rs.1000/- for the offence under Section 146 r/w 196 of MV Act, 1988. The fine amount shall be paid by the accused on the next date of hearing before the Trial Court.

5. Accordingly, the STC.No.520 of 2020 of Judicial Magistrate No.V, Puducherry Taluk, Puducherry shall stands disposed of and this Suo Motu Transfer Case stands allowed.

09.10.2025 rap electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary.
