ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025.

2. The allegation in this case is that on 11.04.2019, the other Accused drove the vehicle and caused injuries and the Accused in this case is the owner of the vehicle, who permitted him to drive the vehicle. The case was registered in Crime No.106 of 2019 for the alleged offences under Section 279 and 337 of Indian Penal Code and Section 181(3) and 180 of Motor Page No.1 of 3

Vehicles Act, 1988.

2. When the matter was called, the accused was present and pleaded guilty. Considering the overall nature of the accident, the fact that the accused has been facing the case for a long time and that she has now pleaded guilty, this Court is of the view that a penalty of fine of Rs.1,000/- shall be imposed. The fine amount shall be paid by the accused on the next date of hearing before the Trial Court.

3. Accordingly, the CC.No.407/2022 on the file of the III Metropolitan Magistrate Court, George Town Taluk, Chennai shall stands quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case stands allowed.

The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary.
