ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu.W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025.

2. The allegation in this case is that on 09.08.2021, the accused drove the vehicle and caused injuries. The case was registered in Crime No.143 of 2021 for the alleged offences under Sections 279, 337 (4 counts) of Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860 and Section 56/192 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

3. When the matter was called, the accused was present before the Court and pleaded guilty.

4. Considering the overall nature of the accident, the fact that the accused has been facing the case for a long time and that he has now pleaded guilty, this Court is of the view that a penalty of fine of Rs.200/- for the offence under Section 279 of IPC and Rs.200/- each for the offence under Section 337 of IPC (4 counts) shall be imposed and Rs.5,000/- for the offence under Section 56 r/w. 192 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The fine amount shall be paid by the accused on the next date of hearing before the Trial Court.

5. Accordingly, the S.T.C.No.2541 of 2024 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.V, Puducherry Taluk,Puducherry shall stands disposed of and this Suo Motu Transfer Case stands allowed.

09.10.2025 rap electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
