Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of mandamus, to direct the respondents 2 and 3 to consider the petitioner's application dated 23.04.2024 seeking Voluntary Retirement and relieve him from service under the Voluntary Retirement Scheme and consequently grant all the service and monetary benefits accruing out of such Voluntary Retirement in view of the petitioner's representation dated 17.09.2024.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to consider the petitioner's application dated 23.04.2024 seeking Voluntary Retirement and relieve him from service under the Voluntary Retirement Scheme and consequently grant all the service and monetary benefits accruing out of such Voluntary Retirement in view of the petitioner's representation dated 17.09.2024. 2.Heard M/s.Vasavi Sridevi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.C.Gouthamaraj, learned counsel appearing for the 2/5

respondents 2 and 3. With the consent of the parties, this writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage, itself. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the writ petitioner has completed 33 years of service in the Respondent/Corporation and his aged about 59 years as of now. He also submitted that an application seeking voluntary retirement as early as on 23.04.2024, but the said representation is still pending for consideration. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner is entitled to seek for voluntary retirement on completion of 10 years of service, according to the learned counsel, the petitioner is satisfying the said requirement. 4.Learned counsel appearing for the respondents 2 and 3 submitted that the respondents/Corporation will consider the representation of the petitioner in accordance with law.

5.In the light of the above submissions, without going into merits of the case, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondents 2 and 3 3/5

to consider the representation dated 26.04.2024 submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders thereon within period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
