Prayer: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking Writ of Certiorari, to call for the records of the impugned proceedings of the 1st respondent Health and Family Welfare (1-2) Department Letter No 7819689 / 1-2 / 2024- 8, dated 27.02.2025 and to quash the same.

Aggrieved by the impugned proceedings in Letter No 7819689 / 1-2 / 2024- 8, dated 27.02.2025, Health and Family Welfare (1-2) Department, the petitioner is before this Court. 2/6

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was a part of a Committee to inspect Vels Medical College and Hospital at Velan Nagar, Manjakaranai Village, Uthokottai Taluk, Thiruvallur District, in the year 2020. After an inspection, the Committee filed a detailed report and based on the report given by the Committee, the Government of Tamil Nadu as well as the National Medical Commission had given a Letter of Permission, to the concerned College. However, without taking into consideration the same, the respondents have issued a charge memo to the petitioner, after a period of 4 years.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though the challenge is made to the charge memo, it would suffice if the 2nd respondent is directed to complete the disciplinary proceedings, within a specified period fixed by this Court.

5. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, a direction is issued to the 2nd respondent to conduct an enquiry in respect of the charge memo and pass final orders, within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. No costs.
