ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking to direct the 1st respondent to disburse insurance claim under Pradhan Mantri Surekha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) for the death of the petitioner's husband Muthusamy by considering and processing application of petitioner claim made through the 2nd respondent in Claim ID No.0164600000007 dated 12.10.2022 to the 1st respondent within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2.Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's husband has taken an insurance policy under the Pradhan Mantri Sureksha Bima Yojana and the petitioner is the nominee for the said insurance policy. After the death of the petitioner's husband, the petitioner applied for the insurance amount by submitting all the particulars required by the 2nd respondent on 12.10.2022. The 2nd respondent forwarded the same to the 1st respondent through email. Since there was no response, the petitioner has also sent a legal notice on 09.01.2023 to the respondents. Even then, the 1st respondent has not acted upon. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3.There is no representation on behalf of the 1st respondent. 4.Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and in view of the limited prayer sought for in this writ petition, this courts directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 12.10.2022 and dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
