The contempt petitioners in 3858 [2 petitioners], 3854, 3856, and 3857 of 2024 who have been functioning as assistant professors in the erstwhile post are concerned, they have been placed as programmers while doing the re-allotment exercise.
2. Dr J. Prakash, Registrar of Anna University, is present today before the Court.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner raised objection, stating that they have not been placed in any equivalent post and the orders issued against them have been challenged by way of filing writ petitions.
4. Mr.R.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader for the 1st respondent, also submitted that their very appointment in the amalgamation appointment in the university itself is not in accordance with the rules, and the vice chancellor who has appointed them has been given the charges, and DVAC proceedings are still pending.
Whatever may be the position as of now, they have been accommodated in the post of programmer with due pay protection.
5. It is learnt from the submission of the learned counsel for the contempt petitioner that by virtue of an interim order granted in a writ petition challenging the orders issued against them, they still continue as assistant professor . So these contempt petitions are closed, and it is open to these petitioners to work out their remedy before the writ court where their orders have been challenged.
In view of that, these contempt petitions are closed. Consequently, the connected sub applications are all closed. No costs.
