Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, Directing the respondents to grant patta for petitioner land comprise in S. ORDER
This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to grant patta for subject land in petitioner's name by conducting enquiry in pursuant to the proceedings of the 3rd respondent dated 02.08.2021 and mutate all revneue records from Arasu Porambokku pathway into petitioner's name, based on petitioner representations dated 14.07.2021.
2. Mrs.S.Indhu Bala, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice on behalf of the respondents.
3. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that in this case, the petitioner is the absolute owner of the subject land. The petitioner and his ancestors have been in possession of the said land in time immemorial. The 'A' register of the said land stands in the name of petitioner's grandfather's grandmother. Under these circumstances, the petitioner requested the Firka Surveyor to survey measurement, so as to fix boundary for the subject land and issue patta in his name. At that time, the petitioner came to know that after UDR Scheme, the said land was wrongly classified as "Arasu Porambokku Pathway" in the 'A' register and the same is not mutated in my name. Therefore, a representation dated 14.07.
2021 was filed by the petitioner before the 3rd respondent, requesting to issue patta of the subject land in the petitioner's name. Subsequently, the 3rd respondent, vide letter dated 02.08.2021, directed the 4th respondent to conduct enquiry and submit report. However, even after the lapse of 4 years, no steps were taken by the 4th respondent for issuance of patta in the name of petitioner till date. Hence, this writ petition.

5. In reply, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would request this Court to pass appropriate orders directing the respondents to consider and dispose of the representation filed by the petitioner.
6. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record.
7. In the case on hand, the petitioner is the absolute owner of the subject land and the petitioner and his ancestors have been in possession of the said land in time immemorial. Under these circumstances, the petitioner came to know that after UDR Scheme, the said land was wrongly classified as "Arasu Porambokku Pathway" in the 'A' register and the same is not mutated in my name. Therefore, a representation dated 14.07.2021 was filed by the petitioner before the 3rd respondent, requesting to issue patta of the subject land in the petitioner's name. 4/7
Subsequently, the 3rd respondent, vide letter dated 02.08.2021, directed the 4th respondent to conduct enquiry and submit report. However, even after the lapse of 4 years, no steps were taken by the 4th respondent for issuance of patta in the name of petitioner.
8. In view of the above, this Court directs the respondents to conduct enquiry and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 14.07.2021 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
9. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
