PRAYER: Civil Revision Petition is filed under Article 227 of the Constitution of India, for a direction to the learned XVI Additional Judge, City Civil Court at Chennai to conduct the trial and dispose of O.S.No.607 of 2020 within three months.

O R D E R

The civil revision petition seeks for expeditious disposal of O.S.No.607 of 2020 on the file of the learned XVI Additional Judge, City Civil Court at Chennai.

2. When the matter came up for admission on 09.12.2024, I called for a report from the learned XVI Additional Judge to state as to how long he requires to dispose of O.S.No.607 of 2020.

3. The learned XVI Additional Judge, City Civil Court, Chennai has sent a report stating that the suit was originally presented in C.S.No.797 of 2013 to this Court and subsequently, it was transferred to the City Civil Court at Chennai and and re-numbered as O.S.No.607 of 2/4

2020. The issues were framed on 10.02.2023. The matter has been adjourned for several hearings for recording evidence. The report further states that the suit has been adjourned to 07.01.2025 for appearance of the plaintiff. if both the parties co-operate to proceed with the suit, the learned Judge can dispose of the suit within six months.

4. Taking into consideration the report of the learned Trial Judge, there shall be a direction to the learned XVI Additional Judge, City Civil Court at Chennai to dispose of O.S.No.607 of 2020 within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
