O R D E R

The petitioner herein, who is an accused facing trial in C.C.No.131 of 2025 for the offences punishable under Sections 126(2), 296(b), 308(2) and 351(3) of the BNS Act, 2023, in respect of FIR No.155 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The petitioner herein, a habitual offender, arrested on 01.05.2025 in connection with a compliant given by one Muhammed Iqbal, alleging that this petitioner waylaid him and robbed a sum of Rs.200/- at knife point. The respondent police, on completion of investigation, have filed the final report, which is now pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Poonamallee, in C.C.No.131 of 2025.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the case is now pending trial and that the majority of the previous cases cited against the petitioner had ended in acquittal.

4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that this Court, by order dated 21.08.2025 in 2/4

Crl.O.P.No.23173 of 2025, dismissed the petitioner's bail application on the ground that the petitioner is a history-sheeter with 23 cases against him, most of which are of a similar nature, some even involving attempt to murder.

5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the gravity of the offences, this Court is of the view that the petitioner has 23 previous cases registered against him, which indicate his adverse antecedents, this Court is not inclined to reconsider the petition or grant bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands dismissed. 24.09.2025 cda 3/4
