The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Arakkonam, Ranipet District, to conclude the trial in C.C.No.119 of 2022 within the stipulated time. 1/4

2. The contention of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner is that based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner/de facto complainant, a case in Crime No.22 of 2016 was registered by the respondent against the accused persons. After completion of investigation, a charge sheet was filed and taken cognizance in the year 2022 in C.C.No.119 of 2022 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Arakkonam, Ranipet District. However, despite the lapse of time, there has been no progress in the trial. Hence, the present petition has been filed seeking a direction to expedite the trial.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case particularly that the case pertains to the year 2016 and despite the filing of the charge sheet in the year 2022, the trial is still pending, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Arakkonam, Ranipet District, is directed to complete the trial in C.C.No.119 of 2022 as expeditiously as possible. 2/4
