The petitioner has filed this petition to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioner representation dated 01.10.2024.
2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner's elder sister, B. Malliga, was selected under the Indira Gandhi Ninaivu Kudiyiruppu Thittam for the financial year 2010-2011, but despite her name being included in the beneficiary list, no funds were sanctioned or disbursed. Believing officials' assurances, she began constructing the house with her own savings and loans but was left financially distressed when the promised aid never came. Multiple representations from 2020 onwards seeking housing assistance under new schemes were rejected. Upon discovering discrepancies, the petitioner filed RTI applications in 2022 seeking beneficiary details, but authorities either denied or partially furnished irrelevant and uncertified information. Despite orders from the Tamil Nadu Information Commission in 2024 to provide the complete records, compliance was not ensured. Alleging misappropriation of scheme funds and deprivation of rightful Page No.2 of 6
benefits, the petitioner made further representations and eventually approached this Court.
3. Though many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if this Court issues direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.10.2024 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
4. Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent has no objection for the said order being passed by this Court.
5. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials placed on record.
6. Considering the limited relief sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court without going into the merits of the case directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.10.2024 on merits, in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period Page No.3 of 6
of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. This writ petition is disposed of with the aforesaid observation and directions. No costs.
