ORDER

Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. It is the case of the petitioners that they were appointed on consolidated pay. In view of the regularisation of similarly placed Cooks as per G.O. Ms. No.85 Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Tribal Welfare Department, dated 20.09.2007, they submitted representations on 04.08.2025 and 05.08.2025 seeking similar benefit in regular time scale. Since the said representations have not evoked any response from the respondents, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Learned Special Government Pleader would submit that the case of the petitioners is not covered in the light of the aforesaid Government Order viz., 2/4

G.O. Ms. No.85 and hence, the benefit of regularisation cannot be extended to them. However, this Court may issue appropriate directions in the above regard.

4. In view of the limited scope of the prayer now sought by the learned counsel for the petitioners and considering the submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, this Court directs the 4th respondent to consider the petitioners' representations dated 04.08.2025 and 05.08.2025 and pass orders on their own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case in the light of G.O. Ms. No.85 Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Tribal Welfare Department, dated 20.09.2007

5. With the above direction and observation, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
