Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue Writ of Habeas Corpus, to produce the body of the detenu by name Ashok Kumar, S/o. Arunachalam, aged 37 years, presently confined at Central Prison, Salem, before this Hon'ble Court and set him at liberty, after calling for the records pertaining to the detention order dated 17.11.2023 in C.M.P. No.103/Goonda/Salem City/2023 passed by the 2nd respondent, quash the same.

The petitioner, wife of the detenu, namely Ashokkumar, aged 37 years, S/o. Arunachalam, has come forward with this petition challenging the detention order passed by the 2nd respondent dated 17.11.2023 slapped on her husband, branding him as "Goonda" as contemplated under Section 2(f) of the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.

2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the order of detention passed by the second respondent as against the husband of the petitioner herein dated 17.11.2023 has been revoked by the Government in G.O. [Rt] No.7167, Home, Prohibition & Excise (XIV) Department, dated 21.12.2023 and he has also produced a copy of the said order.
