This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.07.2025 by reversing the unutilized patta land of the Writ Petitioner acquired under Adi Dravidar Welfare Scheme.
2.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the absolute owner of the subject property, which was acquired by the Government of Tamil Nadu through the Department of Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare, purportedly for construction of tenaments for the benefits of Adi Dravidar residents of the Petitioner's village. Further, he would submit that though the land was specifically acquired as early as on 1989, no construction or development activity has been undertaken on the 2/6
land till date, which resulted in undue harship to the family of the petitioner. In this regard, the petitioner made a representation to the 1st respondent on 30.07.2025. Since, no orders have been passed on the said representation till date, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition seeking for the aforesaid relief.
3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the 1st respondent will consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner, within the stipulated time fixed by this Court.
4. Heard both sides. Perused the records.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the 1st respondent to pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 30.07.2025, on merits and in accordance with law, after giving notice to the petitioner and after affording an opportunity of hearing 3/6
to the petitioner and any of the interested parties, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the aforesaid directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
