The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 6(4) of TNSC (RDCS) order 1982, r/w. 7(1)(a)(ii) of EC Act in Crime No.367 of 2024, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail. 2.

The case of the prosecution is that, based on a complaint given by one Bharathi Raja, the respondent police went to the place of occurrence and found that accused persons (A5 to A7) were involved in illegal transportation of 3000 kgs of PDS rice in their vehicles. On enquiry, it is found that the petitioner herein is also involved in illegal transportation of PDS rice. Hence, this case.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that petitioner is innocent and has not committed any offence and falsely implicated in this case, based on the confession of the arrested accused. He would further submit that the petitioner is ready to produce solvent sureties 1/4

and to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court and also undertake to appear and to co-operate for the investigation, therefore, he prayed for the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 4.

Learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police opposed for granting of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, stating that the co-accused were involved in illegal transportation of 3000 kgs of PDS rice. He further submitted that the petitioner has 10 previous cases and more particularly, 9 cases of similar nature. 5.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police and perused the materials available on record including the FIR. 6.

Taking note of the facts and circumstances of the case and the petitioner herein has 9 previous cases of similar nature, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 7.

Accordingly, this criminal original petition is dismissed. 2/4
