The petitioner/A2, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 03.11.2023 for the offences punishable under Section 6(4) of Tamil Nadu Scheduled Commodities (RDCS) Order 1982 read with Section 7(1)(a)(ii) of Essential Commodities Act, 1955 in Crime No.209 of 2023, seeks bail.

2.It is stated that A1 had been detained as Black Marketer under the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982. It is stated that the respondent had intercepted lorry bearing Registration No.TN-83-MB-9619 transporting 13010 Kgs of PDS rice from Tamil Nadu to Karnataka. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner stated that the petitioner is only a driver of the vehicle.

smv 5.In view of that particular fact, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
