ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.R.Murugappan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, for the respondents.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that mandamus be issued to declare and celebrate the birthday of Devendrakular Velalar Community leader/Freedom fighter/Soldier Immanuvel Sekaran as Government function. According to the petitioner, Mr.Immanuvel Sekaran was a great community leader, freedom fighter and also a soldier.

3. It will not be possible for this Court to issue mandamus for the relief as sought and claimed. There are many freedom fighters, respected and great leaders. It would not be appropriate for the Court to issue a direction to the Government as sought by the petitioner.

4. The writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
