Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.10.2019 for confering the promotion post of Junior Assistant or Lab Assistant in the existing vacancies within a reasonable time prescribed by this Court.

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 15.10.2019 and to confer him with the promotion post of Junior Assistant or Lab Assistant in the existing vacancies.
2.The case of the petitioner is that he was working as Record Clerk and his services were regularized in the year 2012 and his probation was declared in the year 2013. Even though, the name of the petitioner is added in the seniority list for promotion to the post of Lab Assistant, the petitioner was not granted the promotion on the ground that he has not completed the qualifying service in the feeder post. In this regard, the seniority list has also been released for the promotion to the post of Junior Assistant. After the list was published, the petitioner has filed an appeal before the 1st respondent on 15.10.2019. Since, the same was not acted upon, present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions.

3.Heard Mr.R.S.Anandan, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mrs.V.Annalakshmi, learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents. 4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief that has been sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the representation dated 15.10.2019 made by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
