This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.09.2025 seeking renewal of passport issued to the petitioner on 06.05.2016 and dispose of the same within the time that may be stipulated by this Court. 2.Mr.A.Poornachandra, learned Central Government Counsel takes notice on behalf of the 1st respondent and Mr.S.Balaji, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) takes notice on behalf of respondents 2 & 3. 3.It is the case of the petitioner that he had sumitted an online application dated 18.08.2025 seeking renewal of passport which was issued in favour of th epetitioner. Though the said application was forwarded by the Regional Passport Office, Chennai to the 3rd respondent Police for issuance of No Objection Certificate, the same has not been issued citing pendency of FIR as against the petitioner in Crime No.389 of 2022 for the alleged offences under Sections 294 B, 323 & 506(I) IPC. Therefore, the petitioner had addressed a representation 2/4

dated 05.09.2025 to the 1st respondent seeking renewal of passport in favour of the petitioner. However, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

4. Though very many grounds have been raised, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.09.2025 and pass appropriate orders on the same within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.

5. Learned Central Government Pleader appearing for the 1st respondent as well as the learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) appearing for respondents 2 & 3 have no objections to the said order being passed.

6. In view of the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.09.2025 and pass appropriate orders on the same in accordance with law within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties. 3/4
