(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) None appears for the petitioner.

2. We have heard Mr.K.Karthik Jegannathan, learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.S.Raj Kumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the fourth respondent.

3. The petitioner seeks directions against the respondents to strictly enforce Rule 3 of Tamil Nadu Government Servants Conduct Rules 1973, by issuing appropriate circular to all the Departments under the State Government.

4. A counter-affidavit is filed by respondents 1 and 3. It is stated that the relevant rules are already in place and time and again, circulars are also issued to that effect.

5. The Government servants are bound to comply with the rules framed by the Government. In case any Government servant is found to act in defiance of the rules, action has to be taken against such erring officials. If instances are brought to the notice of the authorities, then action with regard to those instances have to be taken.

6. The writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
