O R D E R

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 8(c), 20(b)(ii),(B) of NDPS Act, 25(1A) of Arms Act, in Crime No. 450 of 2025, on the file of the respondent Police, seeks anticipatory bail. 1/6

2.The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner was in possession of 1.100 grams of Ganja along with a bag and patta knife illegally. Hence the respondent police registered a case against the petitioner.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case based on the confession statement of the co-accused and no property has been recovered from the petitioner. He submits that he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He also submits that the petitioner is ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court and ready to furnish sufficient solvent sureties for his release. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the respondent police, reiterated the prosecution case and submits that five previous cases including offences under Sections 302 and 307 of IPC are pending against the petitioner. He further submits that investigation has not yet concluded. Therefore, he opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Taking into the aforesaid submissions made by the learned counsels on either side; that 5 previous cases including offences under Sections 302 & 307 of IPC are pending against the petitioner; that investigation has not yet completed, this Court is not inclined to allow this Criminal Original Petition.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 24.09.2025 MSM To 1.The X Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai. 2.The Inspector of Police P-5, MKB Nagar Police Station Chennai.
