Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 to issue a Writ of Mandamus, direct the respondent to register the document presented by the petitioner for registration without insisting on the production of the original parental document in the light of the order made by this Court in W.A. No 1160 / 2024 dated 27.09.2024 by following the judgment in W.P.(MD) No. 19745 of 2020 dated 11.02.2021 and the Judgment reported in 2011 (2) LW - 648.

The Writ Petition is filed to direct the respondent to register the document presented by the petitioner for registration without insisting on the production of the original parental document.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he has purchased the property in S.No.231/10, measuring an extent of 3136 sq.ft., under a registered sale deed bearing Doc.No.996/2004, Tambaram Sub Registrar Office. Thereafter, the petitioner suffered a kidney problem. Therefore, in order to meet his medical expenses, the petitioner decided to sell the property. The petitioner went through the Registration Department website and booked a registration dated 2/6

15.11.2024. However, the respondent refused to register the same and insisted upon the production of the original parent document.

3. In the light of the Judgements passed by this Court in P.Pappu Vs. The Sub Registrar and Ramayee - Vs - The Sub Registrar and others, the refusal cannot be sustained.

4. The Writ Petition is allowed. The respondent is directed to register the document, within a period of 2 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
