Order (Order of the Court was made by The Chief Justice) The present writ petition, styled as public interest litigation, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to close the TASMAC Shop No.4122 at No.60/67, Gandhi Road, Kamaraj Nagar, Peerkankaranai, Chengalpattu District based on the petitioner's representation on 19.07.2025, on the ground that the same is functioning adjacent to the Zoological Park, which is a reserve forest.

Learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that the District Collector has initiated the process of relocation of the TASMAC shop and the District Manager (TASMAC) has been instructed to find out a suitable place for relocation of the aforesaid shop, and therefore the relocation is under process and the same shall be done as expeditiously as possible.

3. In view of the above statement, the respondents are directed to complete the process of relocation of the TASMAC shop No.4122 at No.60/67, Gandhi Road, Kamaraj Nagar, Peerkankaranai, Chengalpattu District, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
