ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner representation dated 07.07.2025 and to issue birth certificate in the name of petitioner daughter JIVITHA SRI.A and to rectify the name of the father namely S.Aravindkumar, within a stipulated period in accordance with law.
2. Mrs.S.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. In view of the consent expressed by the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that he married one Sridevi and out of their wedlock, one female child, namely A.Jivitha Sri was born on 30.09.2017. Inadvertently, the respondent had issued a birth certificate for his daughter by mentioning the name of one Selvaraj, who is the father-in-law of the petitioner, instead of the name of the petitoner. Therefore, the petitioner has made a representation dated 07.07.2025 before the respondent seeking to make necessary correction in his daughter's birth certificate. Since the same was not considered, the petitioner has filed this writ petition before this Court for appropriate orders.
4. Though very many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation, dated 07.07.2025, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.
5. In view of the limited request sought for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.07.2025, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner. 6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
