ORDER

A case of dishonouring the cheque of Rs.12,00,000/- has been under consideration by this Court.

This Criminal Revision Case No.226 of 2020 filed by the accused who was found guilty under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act, by the Trial Court and on Appeal by the accused in Crl.A.No.192 of 2018, the same was confirmed. Pending Appeal before the II Additional District and Sessions Judge, Thiruvallur at Poonamallee, the accused/appellant had deposited a sum of Rs.1,50,000/- as directed by the Court and the said amount has been withdrawn by the complainant. When the revision petition taken up for consideration, the learned counsel for the revision petitioner/accused stated that the petitioner and the respondent are one time neighbours and therefore, they want to settle the matter amicably. Accordingly, two demand drafts bearing Nos.009913 and 340497 and for Rs.9,00,000/- and 2/4

Rs.1,50,000/- respectively dated 17.03.2023 drawn in favour of the complainant, Mohanraj , same are produced before this Court. Both the parties and their respective counsels are present today and agreed to compound the offence by receiving the above cheques Accordingly, the cheques handed over to the the complainant. The offence is compounded.

Recording the compounding, this Criminal Revision Case is closed. Consequently, the connected Criminal Miscellaneous Petitions are also closed.
