The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 8(c), 22(b) & 29(1) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 in Crime No. 177 of 1/6

2025, on the file of the respondent Police, seeks anticipatory bail. 2.The case of the prosecution is that on 06.08.2025 at about 12.45 p.m., the Sub Inspector of Police received secret information about the illegal sale of drugs near Punitha Xavier Street and the respondent police rushed to the spot, found one unknown person and on seeing the respondent police, the accused person tried to escape from the spot. Thereafter, the respondent police with the help of other police officials secured A1 along with possession of 20 grams of Methamphetamine. Hence the case.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case based on the confession statement of co-accused. He further submits that he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He also submits that the petitioner is ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court and ready to furnish sufficient solvent sureties for his release. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the respondent police, reiterated the prosecution case and submits that the petitioner along with other co-accused were in possession of 20 grams of Methamphatemine. He further submits that investigation has not yet completed. Therefore, he opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Taking into consideration of the fact that gravity of the offence committed by the petitioner; that the investigation has not yet completed, this Court is not inclined to allow this Criminal Original Petition.
