Prayer:- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, Directing the 2nd Respondent to conduct necessary enquiry proceedings in pursuant to the petitioners representation dated 25.07.2022, and to dispose the same within a time period to be stipulated by this Honble Court. The petitioner seeks a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider his representation dated 25.07.2022, conduct necessary enquiry and cancel the following documents:- (i)Sale Deed vide Doc. No.1229 of 2006 dated 03.05.2006. (ii)Sale Deed vide Doc. No.1230 of 2006 dated 03.05.2006. (iii)Sale Deed vide Doc. No.5411 of 2006 dated 29.12.2006. (iv)Sale Deed vide Doc. No.5415 of 2006 dated 29.12.2006. (v)Sale Deed vide Doc. No.7787 of 2019 dated 08.11.2019.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner & the learned Government Advocate accepting notice for respondents 1 to 3. 2/4

3. In the light of the judgement of a Division Bench of this Court in the case of M.Kathirvel Vs. Inspector General of Registration, Department of Registration and Others [reported in 2024 (4) CTC 769], the prayer sought for cannot be granted, as it has been held by the Division Bench that the Registering Authority has no power to cancel the document unilaterally.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed.
