ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for direction directing the the respondents to consider application of the petitioner under NRI quota for the admission of MBBS and BDS degree courses counselling for the year 2025-2026.

2.

The petitioner after completion of her twelfth standard, applied for NEET- UG 2025 examination. She secured 227 marks and she is coming under the OBC category. She applied for admission for MBBS/BDS course under OBC quota. Though the petitioner's maternal aunt financially supported the petitioner's medical education, she did not noticed that she had applied under the NRI category. Thereafter, she obtained certificate from the Tashildar in respect of the Relationship Certificate and submitted representation before the respondents to

consider the petitioner's candidature under the NRI quota. However, now after completion of the first round counselling, the second round of counselling is under progress. Therefore, the petitioner sought for permission to consider the petitioner's candidature under the NRI quota and to permit the petitioner to participate in the MBBS and BDS Degree courses counseling 2025-2026 under NRI quota. 3.

On instructions, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the third respondent submitted that in order to apply under NRI quota, the candidate should upload the NRI status of the financial supporters issued by the Indian Embassy of the respective country under their seal or OCI card. Further the candidate must produce the Certificate of Relationship between the NRI financial supporters and the candidate issued by the competent revenue authority. However, the petitioner failed to apply under NRI quota and failed to upload the document before the last date for the application. Therefore, the portal of the third respondent was closed on 29.06.2025.

4.

Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and

perused the materials placed before this Court. 5.

The counselling for the NRI quota was offered in the first round. Though the petitioner produced Relationship Certificate, even till today, she had failed to obtain any certificate from the Indian Embassy of the respective country of the NRI Status of the financial supporter. Therefore, the candidature of the petitioner cannot be considered under the NRI quota. Further the rash and negligences cannot be considered in the admission of the MBBS and BDS courses. But the petitioner's candidature can be considered under the OBC category. 6.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
