ORDER
Heard the learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner.
2. Pursuant to the earlier order dated 30.01.2025, the learned III Additional Family Court, Chennai, has submitted a letter in D.I.S. No. 1656 of 2025 dated 03.04.2025 to the Registry of this Court, seeking four months' time to dispose of H.M.O.P. No. 141 of 2019.
3. It is stated that four connected matters are being tried simultaneously and that the present O.P. was transferred from the file of the Sub-Court, Kandukur, Andhra Pradesh, pursuant to the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Transfer Petition No.2042 of 2018 dated 06.09.2019. Admittedly, even as per the learned Judge, records were received as early as December 2019.
4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner draws my attention to the requirement under the Act for disposal of such petitions within three months.
5. In view of the above, this Civil Revision Petition is allowed with a direction to the learned VII Additional Family Court, Chennai, to dispose of H.M.O.P. No.141 of 2019 within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. In the event, the learned VII Additional Family Court, Chennai faces any difficulty in disposing of the matter, considering the need to try it along with the other connected O.Ps, liberty is granted to approach this Court for suitable extension of time. No costs.
