Prayer:- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to promote the petitioner on par with his junior G.Shanmugam with all service and monetary benefits including next level promotions as his junior has been enjoying as on date.

This Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to promote the petitioner on a par with his junior G.Shanmugam with all service and monetary benefits including next level promotions as his junior has been enjoying as on date.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as a Work Inspector in the respondent Corporation on 09.03.2009. Subsequently, one G. Shanmugam was appointed to the same post on 11.06.2009. The said Shanmugam who is junior to the petitioner has been promoted as Assistant Executive Engineer in the Chennai Corporation whereas the petitioner has not been promoted so far. Therefore, the petitioner has addressed several representations to consider his promotion. However, the same has not been considered till date. Hence, the Writ Petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the 1st respondent.
4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.04.2025 and pass appropriate orders on the same on 2/4
merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not made any observation with regard to the merits or claim of the petitioner.
5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
