Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the third respondents to cancel the selection made in the notification of Project No.91231 dated 24.08.2023 and issued the third respondent consequently and direct the second respondent to counduct fresh selection for the
Project No.91231 and pending the file of the third respondent and follow the selection procedure contemplated the circular order and make the petitioner for the post of Project No.4600B Anti Theft Squad, Chennai South - I as Investigation Officer to Project No.91231 Assistant Security Officer (ASO) in Arulmigu Devi Karumariamman Temple, Tiruverkadu and the seniority list from the date of order of second respondent expeditiously of service for purpose of granting benefits to promote the petitioner as such other relief as deems to fit to this Court under the circumstance of case.

ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction directing the third respondent to cancel the selection made in the notification of Project No.91231, dated 24.08.2023 and the petitioner is employed with the Tamil Nadu Ex-Servicemen's Corporation Limited (TEXCO).
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3. The petitioner had applied for the post of Assistant Security Officer on 24.08.2023. He has been selected for the post of Assistant Security Officer in North Chennai, Tiruvallur District at Arulmigu Devi Karumariamman Temple, Tiruverkadu. However, his
name has not been considered to the post of Assistant Security Officer. As per the Project No.91231 dated 24.08.2023, the petitioner was shown in waiting list as No.1.
4. According to the petitioner, he is the senior most person and as such, the respondents ought to have been selected the petitioner to the said post. The respondents failed to follow the rules and regulations of the appointment and criteria of the TEXCO. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation to cancel the selection.
5. Without even challenging the selection process, mandamus cannot be issued to cancel the selection to the post of Assistant Security Officer. Therefore, the direction sought for in this writ petition cannot be considered. Thus, the writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed.
