ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(A), 4(1-A) (ii) of Tamilnadu Prohibition (Amendment) Act in Crime No.407 of 2025, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The allegation against this petitioner is that the petitioner joined hands with other accused, were found transporting 700 bottles, each 180 ml of illicit liquor, from Pondicherry to Tamilnadu. At that time, the police intercepted and arrested A1. The accused revealed that the property and vehicle belong to A2, who is the petitioner herein. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is innocent and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He further submitted that a false case has been foisted against the

petitioner. Hence, he prays for anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submitted that the petitioner was having illegal possession of 700 bottles liters of Illicit liquor each 180 ml. He further submitted that there is no previous case pending against the petitioner. However, he opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the specific overt-act attributed to the petitioner and the huge quantity recovered, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
