ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondent to complete the investigation in Crime No.417 of 2022 pending on the file of Sembium Police Station, Chennai District and file final the report within a time fixed by the Court.

2. The case of the petitioner is that she is studying in a College. One Travis Sathiyanathan, who lives near the petitioner's house, has been teasing her regularly. On 14.05.2022 at about 9.20 p.m., when she was returning from a shop, the accused persons beat the petitioner and also threatened to kill her. Hence, she gave a complaint and a case in Crime No.417 of 2022 dated 04.06.2022 has been registered under Sections 294(b), 354 and 506(i) of IPC. The grievance of the petitioner is that though the case was registered in the year 2022, there is no progress in the investigation. Hence, the present petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate [Criminal Side] on instructions submitted that the investigation is almost over and the respondent will be filing the final report within a period of two months.

4. In view of the submissions of the learned Government Advocate [Criminal Side] appearing for the respondent, there shall be a direction to the respondent to file the final report within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
