The petitioner who is an accused in S.C.No.236 of 2021 now pending on the file of the learned XX Additional Sessions Judge, City Civil Court, Chennai, seeks bail. Originally, Crime No.807 of 2018 was registered by the respondent Police for the offences under Sections 294(b), 392 r/w 397, 427 and 506(ii) IPC. 2.The petitioner had absconded from judicial process and Non-bailable Warrant was issued against him on 24.04.2023 and it was executed only on 14.07.2023.
3.It is stated by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) for the respondent that there are 19 previous cases against the petitioner including one under Section 302 IPC which is pending trial and another one is registered under Section 307 IPC, in which, the charge sheet has been filed. 4.It is stated by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner was in custody in another case and therefore, he could not appear. It is also stated that there are totally 12 prosecution witnesses and summons have been issued for examination of three witnesses.

Vkr 5.If the learned counsel for the accused co-operate by cross examining the witnesses whenever the chief examination is conducted, then the learned XX Additional Sessions Judge, Chennai may endeavour to complete the trial on or before 15.02.2024. The matter may be posted every week by examining atleast two or three witnesses.
