Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent Revenue Divisional officer, Chengalpattu to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 07.02.2020 seeking cancellation of Patta No.1130/ 1/4

This writ petition has been filed for direction to the second respondent to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner for cancellation of patta issued in favour of respondents 4 to 6 herein. 2.
The petitioner as well as respondents 4 to 6 are claiming the subject property. Admittedly, patta was issued in respect of the subject property in favour of respondents 4 to 6 in the year 2010. The petitioner did not any step to challenge the patta in the manner known to law within the limitation period. After a period of 10 years, the petitioner submitted representation for cancellation of patta before the second respondent. Further, after a period of five years from the date of the said 2/4
representation, this writ petition has been filed. Therefore, on the ground of laches, the petitioner cannot challenge the patta issued in favour of respondents 4 to 6 in the year 2010. However, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the civil court for appropriate relief in respect of the subject property.

With the above liberty, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
