ORDER
The Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to issue police protection to conduct the temple festival of Arulmigu Unjapalayam Karuppannasamy Thirukoil Mohanoor Taluk, Namakkal District dated 13.12.2024 to 15.12.2024, as permitted by the fourth respondent in the proceedings dated 14.11.2024 and the petitioner's representation dated 28.11.2024.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a Hereditary Trustee of Arulmigu Rajasamy Thirukoil and Arulmigu Unjapalayam Karuppannasamy Thirukoil, Mohnoor Taluk, Namakkal District. The fourth respondent, while giving permission to the Hereditary Trustees to conduct the temple festival on 13.12.2024, 14.12.2024 & 15.12.2024, directed the authorities, especially the second, third and fifth respondents, to provide appropriate protection to avoid any untoward incidents as the conduct of the festival is likely to be opposed by certain persons. The petitioner hence, sent a representation seeking for police protection. However, the police have not responded positively, necessitating the filing of this Writ Petition.
3. The fact that the fourth respondent had permitted the conduct of the temple festival from 13.12.2024 to 15.12.2024 and directed the authorities concerned to provide protection is not disputed. Hence, this Court is of the view that the direction can be issued to the respondents 1 to 3 to give police protection to conduct the temple festival of Arulmigu Unjapalayam Karuppannasamy Thirukoil Mohanoor Taluk, Namakkal District, from 13.12.2024 to 15.12.2024.
4.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is allowed. No costs. 05.12.2024 dk Speaking / Non-Speaking Order Note to Registry: Issue order copy by 09.12.2024 Copy to:- 1.The Superintendent of Police, Namakkal District,
