ORDER

This petition has been filed to quash the order dated 18.09.2025 passed by the first Respondent and consequently direct the Respondents 1 and 2 to provide adequate police protection to conduct Durga Pooja.

2. The petitioner sought permission to conduct Durga Pooja in a Marriage Hall. The same was rejected by the first respondent on the ground that there is only one entrance to the Marriage Hall and further there would be traffic congestion.

3. At the outset, this Court is of the view that when a person is conducting Durga Pooja in a private hall, on ensuring the safety, the Police should give necessary permission without implementing unreasonable conditions.

4. In such view of the matter, the impugned order passed by the first respondent is quashed. The petitioner is directed to give a fresh representation to

the respondents immediately and the respondents shall consider the same and accord permission within a period of two days, thereafter.
