Mr. R.Sanjay, learned Central Government Standing Counsel takes notice for the 1st respondent and Mr.S.Balaji, learned Government Adbvocate (Crl.Side) takes notice for the 2nd respondent. By consent of both the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the time of admission stage itself.

2. The Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to reissue a passport to the petitioner, by considering her Application No.TR2074957735325 dated 16.04.2025, within a time limit to be stipulated by this Court.

3. It is the grievance of the petitioner that the petitioner has made an application before the first respondent for renewal of passport. Since there is a criminal case pending against the petitioner, the first respondent vide their letter dated 07.05.2025 instructed the petitioner to produce the relevant documents. The petitioner sent an explanation to the first respondent vide her letter dated 14.08.2025 stating that the said criminal case against her is still in the FIR stage and no charge sheet has been filed till date. Therefore, she is unable to produce the order of 2/4

acquittal or any proof of clearance before the first respondent. Hence, the present writ petition has filed.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may issue a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's application and pass appropriate orders within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

5. On the other hand, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent submitted that the application of the petitioner will be considered and necessary orders will be passed in accordance with law.

6. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

M.DHANDAPANI,J uma 7.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, the first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's application dated 16.04.2025 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 8.With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
