Earlier, this Court by an order dated 26.09.2022 disposed of the above Criminal Original Petition with a direction directing the 2nd respondent police to complete the further investigation and file further report within a period of two months from the date of that order. Since the said further investigation could not be completed within the time stipulated by this court, the petitioners police herein sought for extension of time.

2. Today, when the matter taken up for hearing, learned counsel for respondent appeared and submitted that inspite of time granted by this court, the petitioners police 1 to 3 herein have not completed the investigation. Hence, she raised strong objection for extending the time as prayed by the petitioners herein.

3. By way of reply, the learned counsel for petitioners would submit that there was some difficulty in getting particulars from the R.T.O. office. Hence, the investigation could not be completed within stipulated time and prayed to extend the time granted by this court. 1/3

4. Considering the objections raised by the respondent as well as the request made by the petitioners 1 to 3 police herein, this Court is inclined to extend time for the period of six weeks to submit further report from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. Post the matter on 20.02.2024.
