ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.07.2025 and directing the respondents for conducting Draupathi Amman Kovil Festival as per the agreement entered between the villages dated 06.10.1916, and 3rd car festival (Aravan- Sakadevan) our family Admiration

2. It is the case of the petitioner that the entire village people of the

petitioner continuously used to worship the said Draupathi Amman Temple Festival every year. For conducting the festival the Draupathi Ammal, there is a agreement between the petitioner family and the village people. However, the second respondent has not conducted the festival for the past 33 years. Thereby, the village people approached the respondents 4 & 5 for conducting festival and they have not taken any steps. Hence, the petitioner made a representation before the first respondent for conducting Draupathi Amman Kovil festival.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that one Anbarasu claimed that he is the hereditary trustee of the said temple and he was appointed as hereditary trustee vide order dated 24.07.2013 by the 4 th respondent.

Therefore, the said Anbarasu will conduct the festival, in which, the petitioner and the village people are entitled to participate in the festival.

4. The learned Government Counsel did not dispute the fact that one Anbarasu was appointed as Hereditary Trustee from the year 2013 to till date. There is no doubt that all the village people are entitled to participate in the festival.

5. Heard the learned counsel for both side and perused the materials available on record.

6. Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate, the writ petition is closed with a direction to the Hereditary Trustee to conduct a Draupathi Amman Festival. If any law and order problem arise, the jurisdiction police/6 th respondent shall take over the temple and conduct a festival.
