ORDER

The petitioner seeks police protection on the ground that there is a life threat to her and her family members.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that a dispute arose between the petitioner's neighbour, namely Kodhandam and the petitioner's brother-in-law regarding drainage water cleaning. During quarrel, a scuffle arose between both parties. As a result, a case in Crime Nos.225 was registered against the petitioner's family members for the offence under Sections 296(b), 118(1), 115(2) and 351(2) of BNS Act. Now, the second respondent trespassed into the petitioner's house and caused extensive damage to the household articles.

3. The learned Govt Advocate (Crl. Side) on instructions submitted that there is a case in counter in Crime No.226 of 2025 for the offences under Sections 115(2), 118(1) of BNS Act. The petitioner's husband is arrayed as an accused in Crime No.225 of 2025 for causing murder of her neighbour.

4. In view of the above submissions, it is clear that there is a case and a counter case registered against the parties. Merely on assumption, the petitioner cannot seek police protection. If there is any real threat to the petitioner, it is well open to her to file a complaint before the respondent police. Accordingly, this petition dismissed.
