O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to deal with the applications submitted by the petitioner wherein, the petitioner is seeking for the details of the Chitta and Adangal with respect to the subject property.

2.Heard Mr.M.Manoj, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.P.Sathish, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.

3.The case of the petitioner is that the subject property belonged to the grandfather and he executed a Will dated 16.05.1996 in favour of the petitioner and his brother. The Will came into force after the demise of the grandfather. In order to get information and copy of the old Chitta and Adangal, application was submitted on 05.07.2024. On receipt of the same, the 2nd respondent gave a reply stating that no records are available in the office of the 2nd respondent and instructed the petitioner to approach the 1st respondent. Accordingly, the petitioner approached the 1st respondent by submitting an application dated 26.07.2024. The 1st respondent also informed the petitioner that no records are available in the office of the 1st respondent and informed 2/4

the petitioner that the records are available only with the office of the 2nd respondent. The petitioner gave a representation to the 2nd respondent and was waiting for details of the old Chitta and Adangal. Since there was no progress, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the nature of grievances expressed by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to deal with the application submitted by the petitioner and to furnish the copy of the old Chitta and Adangal pertaining to the subject property, if it is available. If it is not available, the same shall be informed to the petitioner in writing without making the petitioner run from pillar to post. This process shall be completed, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 5.This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions.
