dated 26.06.2024 for grant of patta in respect of property at Gantz Road, Perambur, Chennai- 600 012 measuring 1 Ground and 1654 sq.ft, comprised in Survey No 506/2 and 506/2A of Perambur village. For Petitioner :

O R D E R

The Writ Petition is filed for the following relief: "To direct the 2nd respondent to consider the representation dated 26.06.2024 for grant of patta in respect of property at Gantz Road, Perambur, Chennai600 012 measuring 1 Ground and 1654 sq.ft, comprised in Survey No 506/2 and 506/2A of Perambur village."

2. It is the case of the petitioner that the subject property belonged to her grand mother, Sayammal. The said Sayammal 2/6

bequeathed all her properties in favour of her daughters, Duraisami Ammal and Dhanalakshmi Ammal, the petitioner's mother. Duraisami Ammal and Dhanalakshmi Ammal entered into a partition deed and the subject property was alloted to the share of the said Dhanalakshmi Ammal.

3. It is submitted that the said Dhanalakshmi Ammal died intestate leaving behind her surviving the petitioner and her sisters Kumudammal and Senjulakshmi, as legal heirs. Thereafter, the petitioner has been approaching the 2nd respondent for issuance of patta in their favour. The petitioner gave several representations in this regard. Since there is no response, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. Heard the learned counsels on the either side and perused the records.

5. Considering the above fact and also the fact that the representation dated 26.06.2024, for grant of patta has not been 3/6

considered to date, a mandamus is issued to the 2nd respondent, to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders on merits, within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The Writ Petition is allowed. No costs.
