This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.144 of 2019 and to file a final report within a stipulated time frame.

It is seen that this Court by an order dated 24.01.2025, while disposing this petition, directed the Inspector General of Police, Salem District, to take departmental action against all those investigating officer, who are in-charge of the case in Crime No.144 of 2019 on the file of the respondent police and to file an action taken report before this Court.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that as directed by this Court, as against the police officials, who failed to file final report in time, disciplinary proceeding has been initiated and the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Attur sub division, Salem is instructed to conduct a preliminary enquriy. 4.

Recording the said submission, this Criminal Original Petition stands closed.
